Bethenny and Jason were married for slightly over two years when they announced their split in December 2012.
Now nearly three years later, the couple - who share custody of their five-year-old daughter Bryn - have still not finalized the divorce and that is taking a toll on the reality star.
"There's no way for people to realize what's really going on," she told reunion host Andy Cohen. "I really never expected it to be like this. I've had a pretty colorful past that hasn't been the easiest, and this is, by far, the most excruciating thing I've ever even come close to being in."
While Bethenny couldn't go into too much detail about Jason's behavior due to the ongoing legal battle, her cast mate Carole Radziwill didn't hold back.
"She calls her daughter twice a day, it's court appointed, and lots of times, her ex-husband won't answer the phone," Radziwill said passionately. "I've seen her call six, seven, eight, nine times, and she wants to talk to her daughter. She wants to say hi. She's 4. There's so many head games being played."
Afterwards, Bethenny wrote a blog post where she further explained to her fans why she won't reveal much more about the divorce.
"Thank you all for respecting my desire to not talk about my divorce or my personal situation. My life is an open book in many ways, but my daughter is my first priority, and that is what is best for her. That is my responsibility."
Part two of the Real Housewives of New York City reunion airs next Monday at 9pm on Bravo.
