Brangelina Adoption Rumors Shut Down by Cambodian Government

Forget what you heard, but the Brangelina bunch isn't getting any larger... for now.

There had been rumors swirling that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were looking to secretly add a seventh child to their brood by adopting a child from Cambodia.

But now the Cambodian government has stepped in and shot down those claims by releasing a statement to a local newspaper.

"I saw [the news] on Facebook, but actually it’s just a rumor,” a spokesperson for the ministry’s Inter-Country Adoption Administration told the Phnom Penh Post.

During a visit to Cambodia last month, the Oscar winning actress sparked rumors that she was looking to expand her family. In 2002, Jolie adopted son Maddox, now 14, from a local orphanage after working in Cambodia filming Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

Even if the rumors were true, the Cambodian official added that it wouldn't even be possible for her to do so.

"The adoption between the two countries is not yet open,” the official said.

In 2001, the US suspended all adoptions from Cambodia over trafficking issues.

The recent adoption rumors come just months after reports claimed the happily married couple were looking to add a Syrian orphan to their family. But alas those too turned out to be false.

In addition to Maddox, the Mr. & Mrs. Smith stars are also parents to Pax, 11, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, 9, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 7.

So until new adoption reports surface, it looks like six is enough.
