A year and a half after consciously uncoupling from Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin has opened up about what life has been like after the Oscar-winner.

In an interview with Australian radio hosts Rove and Sam (of 2Day FM), the 38-year-old Coldplay frontman admits to having bounced back from the "low place" he found himself in shortly before divorce proceedings began in March 2014.

"I was feeling kind of down and confused," he says. "Some friends gave me a book called 'Man's Search for Meaning,' and a poem called 'The Guest House' by an Afghanistani poet, teacher, and those two things started me off on this whole journey that's ended up a few years later now where I just feel so happy to be alive."

"That may sound a little simple," he elaborates, "but I suddenly feel very grateful for all these things in my life. I just feel happy to be alive and if it's coming across then that's because it's real."

Of course, it's not as if he's been a hermit since publishing the now-famous "conscious uncoupling" announcement.

Chris is currently dating Annabelle Wallis and was linked to Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence from July 2014 until this past August.

Paltrow, on the other hand, is dating American Horror Story (and Glee) executive producer Brad Falchuk

Whatever his current situation may be, though, it's good to know that life after divorce is livable when you're a rockstar.
