Madonna Defends Ex-Husband Sean Penn in Defamation Case

30 years after rumors of domestic violence first surrounded Madonna and Sean Penn, the Material Girl has declared - under oath - to the contrary.

TMZ obtained a recently filed declaration, meant for Penn's case against Empire co-creator Lee Daniels, in which Madge denies any harm ever came to her at the hands of her ex-husband.

"Sean has never struck me, tied me up, or physically assaulted me," admits the 57-year-old within the paperwork. 

#ICYMI: Penn is suing Daniels for defamation thanks to the filmmaker's comparision between Terrence Howard's alleged history of domestic abuse and Sean's storied past with Madonna... which you can read all about HERE. In a recent Hollywood Reporter interview, Lee said that Terrence hadn't done "nothing different than Marlon Brando or Sean Penn, and all of a sudden he’s some f*ckin’ demon. That’s a sign of the time, of race, of where we are right now in America.” 

Well, the "Like A Prayer" singer says all those reports are "completely false" and calls her ex a "caring, compassionate individual."

Sean's endgame is a $10 million damages payout from Daniels.
