Six years after his sexcapades & countless mistresses made headlines, the 39-year-old is being quite candid about his relationship with his wronged former spouse in a rare interview with Time magazine.
"She's one of my best friends. We're able to pick up the phone, and we talk to each other all the time," the golf pro said. "We both know that the most important things in our lives are our kids. I wish I would have known that back then."
Despite splitting up in 2010, Tiger and Elin share two children: eight-year-old daughter, Sam, and six-year-old son, Charlie.
And he says it was co-parenting that helped them rebuild their own relationship with each other.
"She is one of my best friends now, and it's all because of my kids. We've worked so hard, and I've shown her how much I love them. We've worked so hard at co-parenting."
Woods has also been very honest with his children about why their parents are no longer together.
"For instance, I’ve told her this, I’ve taken the initiative with the kids, and told them up front, 'Guys, the reason why we’re not in the same house, why we don’t live under the same roof, Mommy and Daddy, is because Daddy made some mistakes.'"
Tiger and Elin were married in a lavish ceremony in Barbados back in 2004. After the fallout from his cheating scandal, the pair divorced in 2010.
