Tyra Banks surprised everyone late Wednesday in announcing that she'd welcomed her first baby (via surrogate) with photographer boyfriend Erik Asla.
People confirmed the news with the former America's Next Top Model host and their exclusive statement speaks volumes to how ready Banks is to be a mom.
“We are so excited for our new baby boy bundle of joy. The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I’ve shared before. But there was a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel for me and his father, Erik."
And, in case you're wondering, Tyra has also revealed the sex and name of her little rugrat.
“As I gaze into the beautiful eyes of my son, I think about all the people who struggle with fertility or carrying a child and continue to pray for them every day. My hopes and dreams are filled with well wishes that they get to feel what my little treasure, York Banks Asla, feels like in my arms.”
#ICYMI: Tyra started off the second half of 2015 at the helm of FABLife - a new daytime talk show that she wound up leaving in late November. Unfortunately, it wasn't able to keep things going with Chrissy Teigen behind the wheel and is slated to come to an end after the first season wraps up in a few months.
It was on FABLife that the 42-year-old opened up about her fertility issues. Watch that segment HERE.
In addition to the official statement her rep released to People, Tyra also shared the news with her 3.7 million Instagram followers.
"The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here. He's got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik's mouth and chin. As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world."
We aren't exactly sure how long Asla and Banks have been together, but the couple did work together on ANTM's recently aired final season.
