He defended himself to the BBC, saying, "To be honest, I'm going to get plenty of criticism in my lifetime. It is not something that I completely ignore, but it's not something that I take completely to heart. I'm concentrating very much on my role as a father. I'm a new father and I take my duties and my responsibilities to my family very seriously."
He continued, "I want to bring my children up as good people with the idea of service and duty to others as very important. But if I can't give my time to my children as well, I worry about their future."
These sentiments might be exactly why William and Kate are such a solid couple. They put each other and their family first over all else. They've bucked tradition in a lot of ways, and they seem to appreciate the simpler things more than you would expect from famous royals.
Prince William's recent comments only reaffirm what we already know... These two are a perfect match, wonderful parents, and an extraordinary example for other couples.
