Ryan Gosling-Eva Mendes

Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes

2011 - current

Prior to arguably becoming the most envied woman in the world for having Ryan Gosling’s baby, Eva Mendes first connected with the handsome actor while filming The Place Beyond the Pines.

After wrapping production, Ryan and Eva wasted no time and showed off their relationship by kissing and holding hands at Disneyland in September 2011.

Two months later, they brought their budding love affair to a slightly less happy place as they strolled through the legendary Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris – the final resting ground of Jim Morrison.

While normally known for their more serious roles, the head-over-heels stars showed off their lighter sides in a December 2011 clip for Funny or Die’s hilarious web series Drunk History Christmas.

In February 2012, the gorgeous couple took their whirlwind romance to new places as the Cuban-American beauty visited Ryan in Thailand as he filmed Only God Forgives.

When the inevitable breakup rumors ensued, Eva and Ryan quickly displayed a united front as they nonchalantly held hands while traipsing through New York on May 10th, 2012.

The rest of the year was full of more PDA outings, with Ryan bringing the Ghost Rider beauty to his mother’s college graduation. The pair were later photographed cozied up during a romantic Thanksgiving weekend.

But it wasn’t until March 28, 2013, that the Hollywood A-listers put their relationship front and center by making their red carpet debut as an official couple at the NYC premiere of The Place Beyond the Pines. The low-budget indie film wound up being a modest hit earning over $35 million.

In February 2014, after staying out of the spotlight for several months, speculation once again arose claiming they had called it quits over a “difference in priorities.” Eva’s rep quickly deflected the reports by saying they were “just another round of rumors.”

On July 9th, 2014, seemingly out of thin air – and to the shock of women everywhere – it was confirmed that Eva was seven months pregnant with Ryan’s baby.

Barely two months later, she gave birth to a girl, Esmeralda Amada, on September 12th. Eva would later reveal they named their genetically blessed bundle of joy after her grandmother, as well as, for the character in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

By December, reports once again ignited claiming they were headed for a split amid the stress of being new parents. While neither has commented on the rumors, the talented actors recently joined forces professionally to collaborate on Gosling’s upcoming directorial debut Lost River, in which Mendes co-stars.
